Born and bred in London, William moved to Edinburgh in 1979 to study medicine. Here he met Alison, a fellow medic, and they married in 1983. After working briefly as a doctor William heard God's call to the ministry and attended Elim Bible College for two years before taking up a position at Kensington Temple, London which lasted from 1988 to 1997. From 1991 to 1992 he took a year out to attend LondonBible College, gaining a Masters Degree in Theology.
Since 1997 he has been the principal of Regents Theological College which is the denominational college of the Elim Pentecostal Church. In the Autumn of 2004 he will be commencing part-time studies towards a PhD in Theology. He will still be teaching part-time at the college although he will no longer be Principal.
William has travelled to India, spending two months working in a mission hospital in Bihar while a senior medical student. He has known the Studley's since his time in London when, for a period, he pastored their church.
